One weekend it was decided to go to pretend we are the «National Geographic» filming crew and see wild animals in their natural habitat. The goal of the trip were to see seals, who have taken up residence just 5 kilometers from Wellington. Buses run to the coast, but beyond that we had to walk on foot. But walking through such beauty - it's a pleasure!
When I landed in Wellington on Saturday evening, I had already crossed nine time zones heading east. Usually, people take three days to a week to recover from such a jet lag. But as a long-time reader of Exler, I knew about the magical pills — Melaxen — that help the body adjust to drastic time zone shifts. I decided to give them a try. The effect was incredible! The next morning, I woke up at 8 AM feeling like I hadn’t traveled at all. Great stuff; highly recommend!
I boarded the plane to Sydney. Oh, if only I had more experience in travel, I would have realized sooner that I could have spent 3 days sightseeing in Sydney on a transit visa! But instead, I flew there just because I couldn't find a direct flight from Guangzhou to Auckland for $1020, and this one with a layover in Australia cost me $1032.
On September 27, I barely made it to 5:00 p.m. at work because all my thoughts were on what was coming up. I spent the next almost 2 days in the sky and in airports, on my way to the other side of the earth - New Zealand. 17,000 kilometers, 36 hours, including 22 hours in the sky… Yeah baby! Jubilant was my pent-up curiosity! And so it flew…
The Russian finals of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2012 took place in Moscow. Ten student projects based on Microsoft technologies participated. I stumbled upon the last one by chance, but this time I registered in advance because it’s both interesting and educational 🙂
As part of J-Fest 2011, the Anime Band Contest for J-pop and J-rock bands was organized by YAMAHA. The guys were all young and energetic. Ange Noir put on a grand stage show, while Himitsu Desu, out of competition, completely rocked the hall with their performance of "Linda Linda"!
For the third time the festival of modern Japanese culture J-Fest was held in Moscow. At the festival, spectators who are not indifferent to anime culture made cosplay. Organizers among the extensive program held a fashion show «gothic lolitas» as they explained the intricacies of this fashion trend to the audience. I'm not much in the subject of who is there and what their names are, but the people received with applause, apparently the guys are famous.
"How does that work?" is usually what people asked me when I invited friends to an evening of charitable striptease. Well, here's how: guests would arrive and bring large bags of warm clothes, hand them over to the organizers, and then proceed to the hall, where, with a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and some Parmesan or fruits, they watched as the charming girls from the show project "Pudra" first put on and then gracefully removed the clothes that had been brought. The clothes were collected for the charity fund "Fair Help," led by Elizaveta Glinka. You can see how it all went down in the photos.
