Like any other city in New Zealand, Christchurch has a botanical garden and a local history museum. I don't like museums, so there won't be many pictures from there, but the botanical garden is there mmmmmm...

First, some pictures of the neighborhood

001 - view of the surroundings from Victoria Park
I was under the impression that every city in New Zealand has a Victoria Park 🙂

002 - elven trails

003 - a bench for contemplating the city

004 - unknown vegetation

005 - pedestrian path, a sign says 'no bikes allowed'

006 - view of the city from Coronation Hill

007 - poor biker, I have no idea how they manage to climb up here

008 - there used to be a cafe behind the benches, now it's all closed

009 - area map

011 - some kind of succulent has bloomed

012 - by science, succulents have no leaves, so I don't know what to call this part 🙂

013 - little blue ones

014 - reached the main museum of Christchurch

015 - ornate

016 - skeleton of an ancient moa bird, all of them were eaten by the Maori
interesting… If Europeans hadn’t come to New Zealand and the Maori had eaten all the moa…

017 - a scene from Maori life, the indigenous people of New Zealand

018 - that's how they were all eaten

019 - hunting equipment

020

021

022 - a very interesting part of the museum, made to look like old streets
you can hear the authentic sounds of the times in the streets.

023 - you can enter all the shops and browse
in the stores, the sound design is also present

024 - first time seeing armor in real life

025 - an ancient working bicycle with a step stool 🙂

072 - You think they're nice guys building sailboats?

073 - Yeah they build them, and then they chase ducks with them 🙂

074 - and bigger birds

075 - Christchurch Ice Fest 2012
There comes a point where all the patterns break. According to our, north hemispheric, in New Zealand it is about the month of April, the temperature is +12 degrees, with everything blooming and smelling and something even fruiting. Natural ice rinks probably don’t form in Christchurch, although they say it does snow there.

076 - It's a little over 10 degrees outside, by the way.
and after all this greenery, flowers, ice rink with people in T-shirts, the final chord - free sunscreen O_O
although the reasons for its freebies are quite well known, there is the very ozone hole over New Zealand and Australia and there is no natural filter against ultraviolet radiation.

077 - free sunscreen from the council

078 - I take it in Christchurch, kids don't get that much ice in the winter.
